'Lan Xang' means the ‘Land of a million elephants' - this is the ancient name of Laos. The charms on the necklace represent these elephants. Laos was once a haven for elephants, but poverty drove the Lao people to sell their beloved elephants.
We are on a mission to help, we are donating the proceeds from this necklace to the Elephant Village in Luang Prabang, Laos. The Elephant Village gives rescued elephants a safe, new home where they are free from abusive work. It also provides support to the indigenous & disadvantaged people in the area by giving them employment through the creation of dozens of jobs under fair social circumstances.
The Lan Xang necklace is handmade at our studio in London. Each ‘elephant’ charm is engraved with a delicate pattern and meticulously attached by hand.
Each piece of jewellery arrives in a screen-printed box with an eye catching illustration, making the perfect gift for a loved one or yourself.
